Restructuring a buying journey to convert a ready client who lacked upfront funds into a closed high-value deal.

Project Overview

I supported a client who wanted to purchase a new vehicle but could not proceed because he did not have enough upfront funds for the required down payment.

Instead of treating this as a lost sale, I approached it as a process problem. I restructured the buying journey by coordinating the sale of the client's existing vehicle, managing the financing process, and ensuring smooth communication between all parties involved.

This allowed the client to successfully acquire a new vehicle without immediate cash and helped close a high-value transaction that could have been lost.

My Role
  • Operations Coordination
  • Client Support
  • Deal Structuring
  • Documentation & Follow-up Management
The Problem

The client had strong purchase intent but could not move forward because he lacked the immediate cash needed for the initial down payment.

This created a major risk of losing a ready-to-buy customer despite genuine interest and urgency.

Key Challenges

  • No available upfront funds for the required deposit
  • No structured process to convert the client's old car into buying power
  • Loan approval required proper documentation and coordination
  • Delays in communication could have caused the deal to collapse
  • Multiple stakeholders were involved, including the client, buyer, and loan provider
My Approach

I treated the challenge as an operational problem, not just a sales issue.

I broke the process into clear stages:

  • Evaluate the client's existing vehicle
  • Identify the funding gap
  • Coordinate the sale of the old vehicle
  • Manage the loan application process
  • Maintain follow-up and track progress until closure
Actions Taken
  • Assessed the client's old vehicle as a convertible financial asset
  • Coordinated the sale of the old car at a value that covered about 40 percent of the required down payment
  • Worked directly with the car loan provider to manage documentation and approval
  • Maintained consistent communication between all parties to prevent delays
  • Structured follow-ups and tracked each stage to ensure the process moved smoothly
Project Goal & Outcome
